12 Times We Loved Superman/Clark Kent in ‘Supergirl’
The first two episodes of Supergirl season 2 introduced Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman after only showing him from afar or his feet last year. And if those two episodes, “The Adventures of Supergirl” and “The Last Children of Krypton” did nothing else, they showed that he should really come back for another visit (or two, or three … ) soon.
Here are the best Superman/Clark Kent moments from the first two episodes of Supergirl season 2.
Clark Used “Lickety-Split” on the Phone with Perry White
Yes, he knew no one said it anymore, he assured his boss. In his first scene, Clark was the mild-mannered and endearing reporter he was supposed to be.
Clark Suited up as Superman
Upon hearing the report of the explosion on the Venture, Clark suited up and helped Kara bring it down safely.
Clark’s “Real” Klutzy Moment in the Elevator
When the cousins first arrive at CatCo, we see Clark helping a guy in the elevator pick up papers he was carrying. Kara remarked that he had the whole “klutzy thing down,” but Clark told her it was real.
Clark’s “Sway” Over Cat Grant and Misstep about Lois
Upon seeing Clark — she sent him a drunk text once — Cat immediately checked herself over before approaching him and calling him “Midwestern dashing.” Was he still seeing Lois or did that fizzle out like she predicted, she wanted to know. Still going strong, he assured her, replying that Lois “has room in her life for both” him and Superman and then stumbling over his reaction to her labeling that as “modern.”
Clark Offered Kara Advice on Being Herself and Supergirl
Kara admitted that she had being Supergirl figured out, but it was the “amazing guy” and “any job” she wanted that were giving her problems. After teasing her that “super telepathy” was a skill she’d get in the future, Clark assured her that he had to figure out being Clark Kent and Superman and it still wasn’t easy — but being Kara was just as important as being Supergirl. “Trust yourself, Kara,” he told her. “Listen to your heart. If things are right with James, you’ll know it.”
Clark Told Kara He was Proud to Be Working Beside Her
In fact, he was thinking of sticking around a while, he added. He didn’t realize how nice it was to be around someone like him, to be with family.
Superman Was Happy to Be “With Her” While out Having #TooMuchFun Saving the City with His Cousin
Since he got to “look cool” last time, he told her to “give them what they need” when they helped take care of a fire.
When they stopped robbers, Supergirl showed up on scene first, with Superman then joining and informing the thieves, “I’m with her.” When one of the robbers tried to punch him after shooting him failed, Superman wondered, “If the bullets don’t work, right, why the punching? Never understood that.”
Clark Won’t Drink and Fly Even Though Alcohol Doesn’t Affect Kryptonians
Clark Listened to Kara About How to Take on the Metallos
Cadmus thought they’d retreat to their own cities, so they did just that — but they weren’t alone. Even though Superman and Martian Manhunter had different opinions about kryptonite, they put those aside to work together in Metropolis while Supergirl and Alex protected National City.
Clark Stood His Ground When It Came to J’onn Keeping Kryptonite
Both had their points — it was dangerous for Clark and Kara, but there could come a day when it would be necessary for them to have it — and didn’t let it affect them working together against the Metallos. But by episode’s end, J’onn gave the supply to Superman.
Clark and Kara Exchanged “Miss You” Texts When He Got Back to Metropolis
Clark Told Perry White a “Jiffy” Is a “Unit of Measurement”
Upon returning to Metropolis, he assured his boss he’d have the article for him “in a jiffy.”
